Challenge#11

If you could ask anyone, living or not, any question what would it be?? This was the subject of our 11th challenge in the ADSR. We could only use one photo and the only words the could be on our layout was our question. No explanations and no answers to the questions. This proved to be a very thought provoking challenge. But there was one question that I ask myself everyday, as I'm sure most of you have too....

Challenge #10

Challenge #10 was a roadblock challenge. For this, one of us (me) had to ask our partner (Christina) five questions and then scrap a layout and have the Q&A as our journaling. An extra stipulation was that we had to use items from 2 designers, no more no less. So here is our layout for challenge 10.

Journal/questions:

1. Where do you like to scrap your layouts? At my computer desk in my bedroom, sometimes at the kitchen table. I have laptop so pretty much anywhere.

2. What's the latest you stayed up to finish a layout? I have stayed up to about 2am sometimes later

3. What do you do to get those creative juices flowing? i look at other layouts to get ideas.

4. What is your absolute favorite thing about digital scrapbooking? The ability to manipulate the photos, and being able to be more creative with it.

5. How do you balance your personal/family time with scrapbooking time? I scrap when the boys are at school, when they are busy with other things or at bedtime.

Challenge #9

This time we had to have at least 2 generations pictured on our layout. I knew what I wanted to do with this one right away. A layout with pics of my mom and myself would work perfectly. When I was a kid, people would tell me I look just like my mother and I HATED it. It was during that "I'm going to pretend I don't have parents at all" stage. Now that I'm older and can recognize what a wonderful woman my mother is, I can embrace the fact that we look so much alike. So here is my layout.

ADSR Challenge #7

For challenge #7, we were given an adorable mini kit from sunshine studio scraps. We had to use every piece of the mini kit to make our layout. We could alter or recolor pieces of the kit and we were allowed to add things from other kits as well if we wanted to. Here is mine:

Journaling: Seeing your sweet, smiling face everyday simply reminds me of how precious life is. I promise you that I will cherish every moment, for those moments pass so quickly. I will reflect how much joy you bring into my life. Every smile, every laugh melts my heart. I know that I do not want to miss a single moment of your life. I want to be around for it all. In knowing how precious your life is, I have also realized even more that mine is as well. So, my son, my biggest promise to you is that I will remember this lesson always and take care of myself so that you will always have me to lean on.

ADSR Challenge #3

Well, our third challenge was quite fun and pretty simple too. For this one we had to choose the first layout we had posted in a gallery (any of our galleries would be fine) and scrap lift it. We had to use the same picture(s) and the same title and journaling but the elements, papers, and general sketch of the layout could be different. I had fun with this one because it show my favorite thing about digital scrapbooking - the way you can use the exact same photos and make two (or more) completely different pages. I love the creativity of it! You can see my original layout here. Here is the new one submitted for challenge 3 in the ADSR.

Journaling: You are a lucky boy. You get to celebrate Christmas twice. Once with Mommy and Daddy, and then again in January with Nana and Paw Paw. This year, you got a push car and you couldn't wait for Daddy to put it together. You even tried to help.

The race has officially begun! Our first challenge was pretty simple. We had to tear a photo into at least 3 pieces and journal on our layout. The rest of the details were up to us. Here is my first layout challenge for the ADSR.

Amazing Digi Scrapping Race

Christina and I are signing up for the amazing digi scrapping race at Natural designs in scrapbooking. Here you will be able to follow along with us as we showcase our progress in the race.
Here's a basic run down of what the race is. Teams of two scrap bookers will receive up to 2 challenges each week. Some of the challenges will have each team member work independently, and some will have them work together. Some challenges may also have only one team member participate. There are prizes along the way and a drawing for a grand prize and 2 runner up prizes.

Registration starts Dec. 1st and the deadline is midnight (PST) on Dec. 26th. If you'd like more information go to the NDISB website.

The race begins on January 4th, 2009. This is sure to be a lot of fun! Keep checking with us to see how we're coming along.
